1. About this policy
The Captain Taxis (ABN 68 679 554 539) is a licensed New South Wales taxi operator. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information across our website, booking widget, app and phone bookings, in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). By booking with us or using our services, you agree to the handling of your personal information as described in this policy. We may update this policy from time to time; the version published on this page is always the current one.
2. The information we collect

3. Why we collect and use your information
We use your personal information to:
- Provide and manage your taxi, parcel delivery or corporate booking

- Dispatch and coordinate the driver assigned to your trip
- Process payment for your trip, through Stripe
- Respond to enquiries and provide customer support
- Meet our obligations as a licensed NSW taxi operator
4. Who we share your information with
We only share your personal information where it's needed to provide our service, or where we're required to by law:
- Stripe — to process your payment. Stripe collects and stores your card and payment details directly; we do not see or hold them ourselves.
- Mapbox — for maps, location search and route calculation.
- Your driver — the driver assigned to your trip receives the pickup and destination details, and the contact information needed to complete the trip.
- NSW regulatory bodies — such as the NSW Point to Point Transport Commission, where we're legally required to disclose information.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it with any third party beyond what's listed above.
5. Data security
We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. This includes limiting access to personal information to the people and systems that need it to provide our services, and relying on providers such as Stripe and Mapbox, who apply their own security measures to the information they process on our behalf. No method of storage or transmission over the internet can be guaranteed completely secure, and we can't promise absolute security for information you provide to us.
6. Cookies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to help it run properly and to understand how it's used. See our Cookie Policy for details on what we use them for and how to manage your preferences.
